Guitarfest is an exciting opportunity that provides a unique way for middle and high school guitar students to learn guitar from the best teachers our state has to offer. Students gather for a half-day event that includes clinicians, master classes, ensemble rehearsals, and an evening ensemble performance. The South Carolina All-State Guitar Ensemble will also participate in the day's activities and perform for friends and family at the evening performance.

Teachers should assign parts to their students evenly so we have coverage of all parts.

Perhaps one of the most unique aspects of this event is the fact that we intentionally give students the opportunity to learn about a diversity of styles that include jazz, blues, classical, electric, acoustic, and guitar ensemble. With the vast heritage and stylistic diversity our instrument has, we believe that guitar teachers have a special opportunity to reach a broader demographic of students with music that personally inspires, challenges, and has the potential to change lives.
